Jana Davis

Jana is currently the Pou Tūraka / Chief Executive at Te Tapu o Tāne. Jana’s focus is on creating sustainable jobs in the nature space and to provide meaningful pathways for rangatahi and local communities. Success to him means more people standing up in our communities for our taiao / our natural world. Jana believes in koha / reciprocity in how we conduct our business and this is a direct reflection to the whakatauki here at Te Tapu o Tāne:

Toitū te marae o Tāne, Toitū te marae of Tangaroa, Toitū te Iwi.
We believe that if we care for the land and water, our people will be sustained.

Jana says, “Our goal is Climate Resilient Communities; through our mahi, eco-systems will be recovered, indigenous biodiversity enhanced and full scale catchment rehabilitation realised alongside our greater community outreach for job creation, training and pathways. Te Tapu o Tāne provides a strong pathway down the ecological corridor for the regeneration of our natural assets. This is a way forward for our people, our water, our land.”
